R.I.P., Fifty-five

Fans often see football players as heroes.  Right or wrong, we see their strength, courage, determination, fortresses of indomitable will.  The best ones are destined for the Hall of Fame.  But it's only been recently that we've seen the tragedy that dogs their steps, even  the ones that seemed most invulnerable.

One such man, Junior Seau, was laid to rest today.

Godspeed, 55.

May you find the rest you sought on earth, and may your struggle serve to relieve the suffering of hundreds like you, why couldn't find the words to express their pain.
